      -- From 1986 to 1989 - postgraduate course at the Kazakh State University and defended candidat nauk thesis “The Socio-cultural Development of the Koreans in Kazakhstan (1946-1966)” in the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography of the Kazakh Academy of Sciences. Received the Diploma of candidat nauk February 27, 1991.
      -- 1999 - Defended Doctoral nauk thesis (“World History”) "The History of the Immigration of Koreans. Second half of the 19th c. - 1945". (Diploma issued April 28, 2000.
